Description of tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s)

Main assignment :
• Assess the carbon footprint of our escape room company and its breakdown into major components
• Propose and implement carbon footprint reduction measures in the company, after approval by the board (improve waste reduction and waste sorting procedures / assess alternatives for energy supply, energy consumption reduction, digital footprint, water footprint etc.)
• Communicate our environmental efforts to our customers and share our experience to other companies in our sector (articles, social media), encourage them to join the move.
• Calculate the cost of carbon emission compensation for our services and propose a pricing for our customers.
• Propose and implement small-scale building greening scheme to imbed our premises in the local ecosystemic network for the urban fauna and flora

Other assignments : (3/10 of the whole assignment)
As part of a small entertainment company team, the Eurodyssee intern will also take part in the regular daily operations of the company with the rest of the team.


Learning opportunities :
• The Eurodyssee trainee will be working mainly with the manager but also the co-founders of the company, who hold a degree in bioengineering and are experienced in life cycle assessment and environmental sciences. Time will be dedicated according to the trainee’s areas of interest

At the end of the training period, the trainee will be able to:
- Assess the carbon footprint of an SME in the entertainment sector and propose mitigation measures.
- Develop a step by step carbon emissions reduction strategy for an entertainment SME.

 

Profile of Trainee

Qualification: Educational Qualifications/Vocational Training

Previous training and professional experience in ecotourism, carbon footprint calculation, life-cycle assessment etc. are assets. We are however open to non-conventional unicorns.

Personal and Social Skills

Autonomous, target driven, with a scientific mindset. Realistic yet committed to a carbon-neutral world. Fun, sociable, enjoys escape rooms and riddles.

Language Skills

Minimum B2 in French and/or English (both would be ideal, but we know this is a training program).
Fluency in German or Spanish are strong assets, but any other additional language is always a plus too.

Information Technology (IT) Skills

Excel and social media - Coding and/or graphic design skills are most welcome, although not essentiel for the scope of this assignment

38 heures + As we work in the entertainment industry, our schedule is akin to that of a cinema. The trainee should therefore be prepared to work once or twice a week in the evening (13:00 to 22:00).
