Communication Traineeship


Description of tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s)

CONCORD is seeking a highly-motivated individual to support the Communications Coordinator and the Secretariat in preparing communication outcomes which are making our policy & advocacy work more impactful.

- Assist in drafting the bimonthly newsletter;
- Update website and upload documents upon request;
- Assist in writing targeted messages around publications launch, events organisation;
- Assist in event communication, administration and logistics;
- Assist in social media updates;
- Monitor European news on development and humanitarian assistance;
- Assist in maintaining the online & offline library up to date


Profile of Trainee

Qualification: Educational Qualifications/Vocational Training

University student or graduate preferably in communication, development studies, political science or EU studies.

Experience with Non-Governmental Organisations / value-based organisations
would be an advantage.

Personal and Social Skills

- Communication mindset: capacity to break down complex, technical issues into
user-friendly texts;
- Team player capable of working in a dynamic and multi-cultural NGO
- Experience in writing, editing and proofreading, social media and online
communication, including the use of content management systems (CMS).

Language Skills

Fluent in English.
French/Spanish considered an asset, but not a requirement.

Information Technology (IT) Skills

- Computer skills, especially web and social media related; the geekier the better.
- Layout and graphic designer skills are an asset;

Other Prerequisites/Skills

The trainee must be enrolled in a university/higher education institute and the university itself should cover the insurance costs during the entire length of the internship. Alternatively, the trainee can be enrolled in other exchange programme for young professionals.
