Communications and Events Assistant


Description of tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s)

The intern will be forming part of the OBESSU Secretariat team, being fully immersed in our daily work. The tasks will be divided as follows
--> Communications (50%)
- Support in OBESSU external communication - including updating website, newsletter and social media account
- Writing articles and briefs for OBESSU communication channels
- Support in the implementation of campaigns
- Developing designs and graphic material in cooperation with the Communications and Outreach Officer.
--> Event management (20%)
- Support in the planning, implementation and reporting of OBESSU events (including statutory meetings and other capacity building activities)
- Logistical support to gathering of materials
- Support in the creation of the OBESSU Child-Protection Policy
--> General support (10%) to the OBESSU Secretariat and Board

The other 20% will be defined jointly with the intern, so that area of their interest can be covered. This may include working on office administration, research tasks and others, project management and support to policy work.


Profile of Trainee

Qualification: Educational Qualifications/Vocational Training

--> Knowledge and/or experience of online promotion tools
--> A degree, certificate or comparable experience within the areas of Communication, Design and/or Marketing, Event organising is an asset.

Language Skills

English minimum level B2
Any other language spoken is welcome

Information Technology (IT) Skills

- Good understanding of social media

- Basic use of design tools (e.g. Illustrator, InDesign or photoshop) is an asset

Other Prerequisites/Skills

Involvement in social causes, student unions and local engagement groups is an asset for the position.
