Internship in Agricultural Policy


Description of tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s)

The European Environmental Bureau is Europe's largest network of environmental citizens’ organisations, standing for environmental justice, sustainable development and participatory democracy. We are one of the leading environmental NGOs working in Brussels to influence EU policies. The agricultural policy team is looking for a self-motivated person with a strong interest in EU agricultural and/or environmental policies to support our project and advocacy work.

In your time here you might be asked to help with tasks such as:
- Processing and analysing data on the implementation of environmental policies in the agricultural sector;
- Supporting the drafting of sections of reports and other deliverables under the supervision of senior team members;
- Gathering information and conducting research through desk studies, workshops and attendance to conferences;
- Supporting agricultural policy team in project implementation and administration, including communication with partners and external experts, and internal/external reporting tasks.


Profile of Trainee

Qualification: Educational Qualifications/Vocational Training

Educational Qualifications/Vocational Training
At least a Bachelor degree in agricultural or environmental sciences. Degrees in social sciences or law would also be considered if knowledge of agriculture and environmental issues is demonstrated.

Personal and Social Skills

Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
Sociable, flexible, multitasking, proactive

Language Skills

Excellent command of English (at least C1), with strong written and oral communication skills.
Other languages are an asset.

Information Technology (IT) Skills

Proficiency in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Other Prerequisites/Skills

Experience of international settings
At least basic understanding of the Common Agricultural Policy and of EU policy-making
Sound knowledge of sustainability issues in the field of agriculture
